CTA has collaborated with the Insurance Bureau of Canada (IBC) to create the CTA Cargo Crime Incident Report form to collect data on cargo crime incidents. The collection of data on cargo crime incidents represents the first and essential step to gaining additional resources to fight the increasing problem of cargo crime in Canada.
CTA has received and incorporated feedback on the reporting form from members, while considering sensitivities to information collected. Members and others in the industry are encouraged to complete the form each time there is an incident of crime including fraud, theft, hijacking.
The information collected will only be shared with IBC (not individual insurers) and the law enforcement community.
