Newcom Acquires Glacier Media Publications, Truck News

Newcom Business Media – the family-owned  CTA Team Canada Elite member which publishes popular trade magazines such as Today’s Trucking Magazine, Truck and Trailer and Transport Routier and is the producer of the Truck World show – has just grown by more than 100 percent after acquiring Glacier Media, which is the publisher of Truck News, Truck West and Motor Truck Fleet Executive magazines.

In total, the deal includes 18 publications and two trade shows.

Newcom issued a statement reassuring readers, advertisers of all the aforementioned publications  that increased size will only mean better journalism for readers and improved service for customers.

“Our policy at Newcom is ‘Readers Come First,’ and that is not changing,” Today’s Trucking Publisher Joe Glionna said after the purchase was announced Friday.

The new assets include trade publications, digital properties, conferences, and trade shows in the following industries: automotive; trucking/ transportation and logistics; dental; insurance; meetings and travel; as well as Scott’s Directories.

All operations will continue as is, with staff remaining in their current Toronto location.

Newcom Business Media Inc. was founded by Jim Glionna and several partners in 1987.  Glionna’s father Al was also the publisher of a trucking magazine; and his son Joe represents the third generation to run the business.
