CTA Issues Document on Guidelines to Reopening Provincial Economies
CTA has assembled the latest information on current plans for reopening provincial economies as the country attempts the slow process of recovering from the COVID-19 pandemic.
The document contains timelines and a snapshot of what provinces are doing to gradually reopen business sectors and other activities, including links to the latest provincial plans and guidelines available to the public.
Members are encouraged to contact their local provincial association for the latest information or if additional details are required.
Transport Canada provides additional guidance on use of PPE for commercial vehicle drivers
The updated document assists in distinguishing the different types of personal protective equipment (PPE) and provide guidance with respect to their use as it pertains to commercial vehicle drivers. TC Pilot Project to Test e-shipping Docs
The following is a status update on Transport Canada’s pilot project to test electronic shipping documents for the transportation of dangerous goods.
With the current COVID-19 pandemic, this pilot will play a vital role in testing alternative ways to support physical distancing and eliminating the exchange of physical documents in both daily operations and emergency response situations.

Trucking industry under siege from cyber-attackers in wake of pandemic fears
All the coronavirus’ implications on a business aren’t always obvious at first, especially for carriers that haven’t been forced to layoff personnel.
Millions of employees nationwide have been dutifully coming to work everyday, but as the world around them changes – and evolves into increasing levels of uncertainly – the aftereffects of this new reality can weigh heavily on their minds.
“This is a very emotional time,” said Dupre Logistics’ Chief Information Officer Bob Verret, “and when you’re emotional, you tend to be distracted.”
